Who am I? What is this?

Hi! I’m Ross.

I’ve been techy and nerdy my whole life (I went to space camp for example!) but started considering a career switch into software engineering in may of 2018.

I started this blog as a public commitment to do more coding and see where it took me. Since starting I’ve studied every day for at least an hour (average is between 2 and 3.) That’s over 330 days! I recently graduated from an immersive web development bootcamp at Launch Academy in Boston and I’m looking for my first developer role in Cambridge / Somerville, Boston, MA.

It has been an amazing 300+ days so far, and it’s fun to look back at the things I used to struggle with that now make complete sense. Post-Launch I’m looking forward to learning graphQL, redux, SASS, and a lot more about testing in react.

Follow along as I make my way into the world of software engineering. I’ll keep trying (and sometimes failing) in public, and by doing so I’ll succeed.

Tell me what you think.
