1.21 Study Log – ruby my dear

3.25h Tonight was just one long push on the ruby homework for Launch Academy. It’s working on arrays this week. My goal is to finish everything tomorrow and then write tests for at least the three core assignments. I should probably do some reading on how to properly write tests while I’m at it. I wrote some last week, but I barely scratched the surface in terms of testing coverage. Some more theory on what to test and how could help me.

Part of my testing strategy is that I have heard it helps developers code cleaner and faster. I could be very happy with a boost in both of those areas, so I’m trying to put in the time now and build a practice involving tests. I am still writing code and then writing tests. It seems that I need to switch that order in order to get a good benefit from it. I should put that on my to-do list.

Today was also the day that tuition was due. I’m in. Now I’m in on the student loan club. I’ve heard it’s a lot of fun. right guys?!

Lastly I’ve been jamming out to this playlist on soundcloud. It may or may not be one that wes bos recommended in his syntax podcast. Either way Wes got me interested in the “Head Bob” genre, and I thank him for that.

Tell me what you think.
